Pirate's Passage is set in 1952 Grey Rocks, a centuries-old village that was formerly known as a favorite pirate harbor 250 years ago. It chronicles the narrative of 12-year-old Jim. Jim manages to carry on despite the death of his father and daily schoolyard abuse, supported by his hopeful imagination and propelled by his spirit of adventure. Jim's life is turned upside down by the unexpected arrival of Captain Johnson, whose little yacht has been pushed off course by a storm. The Captain rapidly becomes Jim's mentor and friend, teaching him invaluable lessons in self-reliance and perseverance. Soon, Jim gains a liberated sense of self-assurance that moves the Captain so deeply that he permits Jim to see proof that the Captain is more than meets the eye. Is Captain Johnson related to the two-hundred-year-old pirate Charles Johnson?
