In Alaska, Samuel Browne is a tracker. When his sister is killed in a horrible way in San Francisco, he goes there to find the person who did it. As more murders happen, Buckley Clarke, a police detective, reluctantly teams up with Sam. The bosses think this is a serial killer who picks victims at random, but Sam and Buckley find a pattern involving health workers in neonatal intensive care. Doctors aren't supposed to act like gods, but a decision made years ago pushed a killer over the edge. Can they look for him?
