Raymond, his wife Val, and her brother Billy reside in a working-class district of London. Val and Billy's mother Janet and grandma Kath are also members of their family. Billy is a heroin addict, and Raymond forces him to live on his own. Raymond is an inherently tough and even violent guy, which creates difficulties in the family's existence.
