Emma is a divorced woman with a teen son who relocates to a small town and attempts to establish a horse ranch. Murphy is the town's druggist, and she is in charge of business. Everything goes according to plan until her ex-husband arrives up in need of a place to stay. The three of them establish a tight web, with Emma's son admiring Murphy but desiring his father's return.
