"Muffin Top: A Love Narrative" is the story of Suzanne (Cathryn Michon), a Malibu University Women's Studies Pop Culture professor who studies pictures of women in the media for a livelihood but is made insecure by our airbrushed culture's relentless parade of feminine perfection. She has been undergoing IVF treatments with her network executive husband (Diedrich Bader) in order to conceive a child, but discovers on her birthday that her husband has had an affair with his younger, skinnier coworker (Haylie Duff) and is seeking a divorce. Congratulations on your birth! She goes on to discover a more honest version of herself, despite the pleasures of being suddenly unmarried in Los Angeles, where low female self-esteem is our primary export.
