As described to a psychotherapist, Mr. Peabody, a middle-aged Bostonian vacationing in the Caribbean with his wife, hears odd, wordless singing on an unoccupied bay rock. While fishing in the area, he captures...a mermaid. He takes her in and falls in love with her despite her lack of spoken language. Of course, his wife will not accept anything other than a giant fish is in the bathtub. Predictable difficulties ensue in a somewhat orderly fashion.
