Fiona Rangely (Lacey Chabert), a fast-paced New York City high-end real estate broker, goes to her family's rustic Vermont Inn for a few days to settle down and evaluate her life after her lover dumps her. When Fiona's ex-boyfriend Nate shows up at the Inn with a new girlfriend, she devises a scheme to get him back: she pretends to be dating Derek (Carlo Marks), the handsome and laid-back head chef! In appearing to be in love, Fiona discovers that she's been given a curveball: sometimes the best things in life are worth the wait, much to Derek's and Fiona's astonishment.
