An Army veteran Johnny and his quiet son Max are hired to help the high-school dean Alana and her outgoing adolescent daughter Samantha prepare a holiday concert to raise money to rescue the school. However, after a car accident leaves Sam in a life-threatening condition, Alana seeks help from Johnny, and Max makes a desperate decision that will forever bind their families together. All four are forced to examine their personal beliefs about sacrifice, family, and love - as well as what it means to be thankful for another Christmas season.
