Mektoub, My Love
Parisian Amin comes to the south of France for the summer, where she lives with her mother, a successful screenwriter. It is a period of reconnection with his family and old pals from his boyhood. Together with his cousin Tony and his best friend Ophélie, he divides his time between the Tunisian restaurant managed by his parents, the local pubs, and the beaches, which are popular with young women on vacation. Amin is enchanted by the myriad feminine characters who surround him, and he remains in awe of these summer sirens, while his dionysiac cousin is ecstatic as he indulges in their sensual pleasures. Amin undertakes his intellectual quest while gathering inspiration for his screenplays, aided by his camera and the dazzling golden light of the Mediterranean coast as his guide. When it comes to love, only Mektoub (which means "destiny" in Arabic) has the final say.
