In this classic German thriller, Hans Beckert, a serial killer who preys on children, becomes the target of a large Berlin police manhunt. Beckert's horrible crimes are so disgusting and bad for city life that other criminals in the seedy underworld network are after him. With both police and criminals after him, the murderer soon realizes that people are after him. This makes him try to get away from justice in a tense, panicked way.
