Nola Devlin (Poppy Montgomery) is a humdrum, frumpy magazine editor who is disregarded and mocked by her coworkers during the day. When the sun goes out, however, when she is hidden behind the glow and anonymity of her computer screen, she transforms into the "reclusive" and renowned advice writer Belinda Apple. Nola's friends, tired of being overworked and overweight, make the "Cinderella Pact" and pledge to lose weight by following Apple's "fairy godmother" instructions. Nola is compelled to seek counsel from her alter ego when her hidden identity is endangered. However, as the group of friends loses weight, their true troubles are revealed and positive life changes begin to develop.
