Rayford Steele, an airline captain, contemplates having an affair with Hattie Durham, a beautiful flight attendant, after his marriage breaks down. A trip to London is disrupted when a number of passengers unexpectedly vanish, and vehicles on the ground and in the air become unmanned. Meanwhile, Buck Williams, a TV journalist, is reporting on Dr. Chaim Rosenzweig, an Israeli scientist who has created a formula that would make any soil easy to farm. In fact, the doctor is working with two multi-millionaires who want to use the discovery to further their own agenda of global dominance.
