John, a guy whose childhood continues to haunt him, grapples with the challenge of giving his life purpose and meaning as he moves on. As a result, he makes the decision to indulge in self-centered behavior and substance misuse. As a direct result of this, his relationships with his wife and his family have become strained. John receives the wake-up call that he needs as things start to crumble all around him. This wake-up call comes in the shape of a loving new friend, as well as others in his life that reach out to him in ways that they hadn't previously. John is led on a journey of self-discovery by God, working through his disciples and reaching out to him, during which he learns the source of his worth and value, as well as what aspects of life hold the most significance.
