The first manned trip to Mars gets marooned on Mars in1973, and by the time a rescue team arrives, there is only one survivor: the expedition's commander, Col. Edward Carruthers, who appears to have murdered the others! During a sandstorm, Carruthers' friends were slaughtered by an unknown living form, according to him.
