Giaetano, a young Napoletano, makes the decision to leave his home, his job, and his friends in order to pursue other opportunities and meet new people. Arrives in Firenze, to the residence of the zia. Marta meets and falls in love with him in an ambulatorio, where he is assigned to work. A series of amusing situations (such as an old friend from the parlantina inarrestable arriving from Naples; the maturing Zia and her attempito lover; an American prete who wants to join him in his evangelistic visits; the encounter with Riccardino, a teen frustrated by an oppressive mother; etc.) have occurred. Gaetano decides to remain in Florence and to act as a father figure to the child that Marta is expecting, despite the fact that the young lady does not wish to reveal the identity of her father.
