An unfulfilled life revolves around Hideo Suzuki's 35-year-old mangaka assistant work, unmet dreams, bizarre hallucinations, and unfulfilling relationships. As a result of his poor self-esteem and frustration, he views himself as a bystander in his own life. As Hideo has come to know it, the world will be turned upside down one day by the appearance of a disease that turns individuals into homicidal maniacs eager to attack and consume the next human in their path.
