A tortured spirit that was neither a man nor a god once walked the earth fourteen hundred years ago. This dark and world-weary soul turned his back on the gods after enduring twelve difficult labors and suffering the loss of his family. He found the only solace he could find in brutal conflict. Over the course of many years, he became fond of being in the company of six people who were very much like himself. The only thing that connected them was their shared passion for battle and acceptance of death. These men and women never wonder where they are going to fight, why, or for whom; the only thing that concerns them is how much money they will make. Now, the King of Thrace has contracted these mercenaries to instruct his troops in the art of becoming the most formidable fighting force in history.
