Heaven & Earth
Le Ly lives in a quiet Vietnamese town whose tranquility is disturbed as fighting erupts in the surrounding area. It is almost completely devastated since it is caught between the Viet Cong and the South Vietnamese army. After being brutalized and raped, Le Ly makes the decision to depart the country. She travels to the city, enduring desperate situations, but surviving nonetheless, while she does so. A U.S. Marine named Steve Butler comes across her and treats her with respect, telling her he would like to marry her — and that she might be his future wife.
