Melanie Ballard is the police chief in the year 2025, and she is a tough cookie. She is dispatched to Mars with a police grab squad in order to catch dangerous criminal James Williams. Humans have been on Mars for a long period of time, and they have established mining infrastructure. The mining operations on Mars have triggered the release of the spirits of extraterrestrial creatures, which are progressively taking over the bodies of the miners. Following their arrival on Earth, the extraterrestrial spirits seek to expel the 'invaders' from their world, and the pursuit of the deadly fugitive becomes secondary.
