Lacy has always been a special friend to Hope. Lacy, on the other hand, has been a source of concern for Hope ever since her divorce from her husband. As a result, Hope is overjoyed when Lacy brings home a new friend, Cassie, whose parents have also recently separated. After a short period of time, Lacy and Cassie become the best of friends. Although Hope initially welcomed Cassie, when she begins to put distance between Lacy and her mother, she begins to doubt that Cassie is the blessing she had hoped.
