Mark and Olivia, a young American couple, are expecting a kid. Prior to that, they wish to fulfill a long-held ambition of visiting Europe. They rent private lodging through an online platform and begin their four-week tour. Elisabeth meets them at the airport upon their arrival in Germany. She is the daughter of Mark and Olivia's first landlord, who lived in a tiny house on a beautiful lake in Olivia's great-grandparents' hometown. They discover that the 82-year-old landlady is dying in the hospital. Mark and Olivia are driven to the house by Elisabeth. The two young individuals then spend the night in Germany for the first time. Mark spends the evening getting to know the proprietor in a unique way. The house beside the lake is eerily quiet the next morning. And no one will know what happened a few hours ago so swiftly.
