Eddie Sparks, with the assistance of singer and dancer Dixie Leonhard, wishes to provide some joy to the soldiers during World War II. They form an ideal team and tour from North Africa to the Pacific, performing for "the boys." Later on, they resume their work, but when author Silver becomes embroiled in McCarthy's campaign and is dismissed by Eddie, Dixie withdraws from him as well.
