"FLOWERS" follows the lives of six women over the course of three generations (from the Show period all the way through to the present day). Beginning in the 1930s, Rin (Yu Aoi) is concerned about her parents' arranged marriage. Rin eventually has three daughters: Kaoru (Yuko Takeuchi), who tragically loses her husband in a car accident, Midori (Rena Tanaka), a career woman who is shaken by a marriage proposal, and Sato (Rena Tanaka), the youngest child (Yukie Nakama). Sato gives birth to Kanna (Kyoka Suzuki) and Kei in the 1960s (Ryoko Hirosue). Kanna is now concerned about becoming a single mother in the present day. These women's lives are depicted with beauty and grace.
