Flight
Although Whip Whitaker, a pilot for a commercial airline, struggles with substance abuse and alcoholism, he has been able to finish all of his flights without incident up to this point. His good fortune runs out when a catastrophic mechanical failure causes his plane to plummet to the ground. The spectacular crash landing that Whip manages to pull off results in only six people losing their lives. Whip is jolted to the core, and as a result, he resolves to get clean. However, when the investigation into the crash reveals his addiction, he finds himself in an even more difficult predicament.
