Some people believe that becoming the leader of a country is one of the most lonely positions on the planet. Being the child of a world leader, on the other hand, can be doubly difficult. Being constantly surrounded by security officials, restricted in movement, and having almost every waking minute meticulously scrutinized makes maintaining a sense of normalcy nearly impossible to achieve and maintain. No one understands this better than young Luke Davenport, the son of former President Davenport of the United States. He expresses his feelings of loneliness, dissatisfaction, and isolation from family and friends by acting like a brat in front of his own Secret Service agent. An entirely new agent is assigned to Luke after the original agent collapses in front of the First Lady because of the strain. He turns out to be the colossal Sam Simms, a bit of a rogue who rose up the Secret Service ranks by sheer drive rather than by strictly adhering to the rules and regulations. Sam is initially taken advantage of by Luke, who employs all of his old methods on him. However, instead of being enraged, Sam appears to be genuinely perplexed.
