Farewell, My Lovely
The services of a private investigator in Los Angeles are numerous. Moose Malloy (Robert Mitchum) hires Philip Marlowe (Robert Mitchum) to find his ex-girlfriend, who has gone missing. As he investigates the murder of a client and the theft of a jade necklace, Marlowe becomes entangled with seductress Helen Grayle (Charlotte Rampling), and uncovers a web of dark truths that are best kept hidden from the public eye. Farewell, My Lovely is a neo noir remake of the 1944 film of the same name, but it adheres more closely to the original Raymond Chandler novel. The picture is dripping with 1940s period detail.
