Ezer Kenegdo
When Yisroel "Izzy" Jonigkeyt, a Chassidic Jew from Crown Heights, visits his Polish-born Catholic friend Marek Wisniewski in San Francisco, he attempts to learn why a Bay Area art-world iconoclast named Harry Kierk seeks to trash a lifetime's worth of his own work. During the visit, Izzy and Marek discover for the first time how intricate historical baggage affects their curious friendship, and they begin to comprehend Kierk's destructive motivation. Intense feelings are heightened by frequent interactions with Marek's anti-Semitic relative Irek.
