Epidemic
The second film of Trier's Europa trilogy. The Element of Crime (1984) and Europa (1991). The film, co-written by Niels Vrsel, is about screenwriting. They play themselves writing a last-minute script for a producer. From their film, in which von Trier plays an outlaw doctor striving to cure today's disease, sequences are intercut with this story.
