Empire of the Sun
When the Japanese attack Shanghai and throw all foreigners into prison camps, Jamie Graham, a privileged English boy, is residing there. While they are in the camp together, Jamie gets captured with an American sailor called Basie, who keeps an eye out for him. Jamie retains his dignity and youthful spirits despite being separated from his parents and in a terrible situation, serving as a light of hope for the others taken captive with him.
