The year is 1398. Kim Min-Jae (Shin Ha-Kyun) is the Joseon Dynasty's top commander and the protagonist of the film. To be with the woman he falls in love with for the first time, he is willing to risk everything. Yi Bang-Won (Jang Hyuk) is the King's son, and he is the protagonist of the film. He assisted his father in the establishment of the Joseon Dynasty, but he was not chosen as the Crown Prince. He still has aspirations of one day ascending to the throne of the United Kingdom. He is Kim Min-son Jae's and the King's son-in-law, and he is also known as Jin (Kang Ha-Neul). Because of his position as the King's son-in-law, he is unable to participate in politics and is only interested in pleasure-seeking activities.
