Easy Street

When Charlie the Tramp stumbles into a mission, he falls in love with Edna and returns the collection box he has taken. He becomes a police officer after his rehabilitation and is assigned to the rough-and-tumble Easy Street. Incapable of tricking or defeating Eric the Tough, he inserts his head into a gas pipe and sedates him. He is now assisting numerous impoverished residents of Easy Street as a hero. Eric breaks free from prison, Edna is kidnapped, but Charlie (recharged by sitting on a doper's needle) overcomes all odds. Eric, as well as Easy Street, has been altered.
