Drowning
Drowning is a slow-burn psychological thriller in which the main character, Anna, uses wish fulfillment to break free from an abusive cycle. Anna lacks the self-esteem required to overcome the abuse she endures in real life, so she creates a new reality in which she fights back. Anna is a prostitute who has spent her entire life being abused, exploited, and manipulated. Anna must reclaim control of her life, empower herself, and learn to live on her own terms after becoming estranged from her emotions. Anna returns to her childhood home and battles her enablers, abusers, and demons.
