Andy Lau plays a young criminal who is seeking to get away from his impoverished upbringing. After being released from prison, he is bullied by a local dictator, Ma Chao-wei, until his jail buddies assist him in resolving the situation. Ma, on the other hand, exacts vengeance on him. His sole hope of escaping is through his friendship with a wealthy prison inmate (Ho Kar King).
