Dear Frankie
Frankie, who is nine years old, and his single mother, Lizzie, have been constantly on the move for as long as he can remember, most recently settling in a Scottish coastal town. Lizzie has told her deaf kid that his father is away at sea aboard the HMS Accra in order to shield him from the truth that they have fled from his father. Every few weeks, Lizzie sends Frankie a letter purporting to be from his father and detailing his travels in foreign locations. As Frankie follows the ship's travels around the world, he realizes that it is scheduled to stop in his hometown. Lizzie must decide whether to tell Frankie the truth or locate the right stranger to portray Frankie's father for just one day, as the actual HMS Accra is scheduled to arrive in less than two weeks...
