Dauntless: The Battle of Midway

The Japanese navy had stormed across the Pacific by June 1942. A US carrier group is stationed off the coast of Midway in an attempt to sway the war's outcome. A US Navy dive bomber's two-man crew is forced to ditch in the sea during this key combat. Set adrift, the men appeal for help from their compatriots, specifically a ragged crew of a PBY Catalina dispatched to find for survivors. The soldiers are forced to confront their own death amid the immense openness of the Pacific, as days pass and the hope of rescue fades.
