The Libner brothers are: Marvin, the oldest, is a sergeant in the U.S. Air Force. He is played by Daniel Stern. The middle child, Buddy (Arye Gross), is a shy dreamer. The youngest, Bobby (Patrick Dempsey), is a gorgeous rebel at reform school. As kids, they fought a lot, but now that they're adults, they don't talk much. In the summer of1963, their tough and strange father, Fred (Alan Arkin), gives them a job: to drive a 1954 Cadillac that he bought for their mother, Betty (Rita Taggart), from Detroit to Miami. As the trip goes on, the three brothers argue and start to talk again, all while trying to keep the Caddy in perfect shape.
