Youthful, uptight English writer Henry's story is a tenacious failure. He is delighted to find out his book is a surprise hit in Mexico but when he is welcomed there to promote it, he soon finds why: his Spanish translator Maria has actually revised his plain publication as a sexual book. Henry rages, and even more so when his publisher urges he and Maria perform a book trip across Mexico together.
