Bob Dylan: The 30th Anniversary Concert Celebration
On the occasion of Bob Dylan's 30th anniversary of recording, an outstanding and diverse array of performers convened at New York City's Madison Square Garden on October16, 1992. Over 18,000 people attended the sold-out four-hour event, which featured a wide range of musical luminaries, including Johnny Cash, Eddie Vedder, The Clancy Brothers, and Lou Reed. Bob Dylan's greatest hits were performed by an all-star lineup of musicians at an event that was nicknamed the "Bobfest" by one of the show's participants, Neil Young. Finally, the evening's man of honor took to the stage to bring it all full circle. The Bob Dylan celebration stood apart in a world where all-star celebrity gatherings have become regular. First and foremost, it was a great musical event.
