Belle and Sebastian is set in the Alps during World War II, where the characters are stranded in the snow. Although the locals believe Belle is 'the beast' that has been murdering their sheep, Sebastian, a resourceful and lonely young man, manages to tame and befriend the enormous, untamed mountain dog.
