'Morris Buttermaker' is a disillusioned minor league baseball player who enjoys drinking and can't keep his hands to themselves. In order to appease his long-suffering lawyer, Buttermaker agrees to coach the local Little League team, and he quickly finds himself in charge of an oddball ragtag group of misfit players. Buttermaker assists his poor Bears in preparing for their next game against their archrivals, the Yankees, with unique team-building exercises and his eccentric coaching approach.
