Anne travels to Charlottetown for accelerated lessons in order to pursue her goal of becoming a teacher. As she navigates her way through her first school experience outside of her beloved Green Gables, she is forced to swiftly adapt to her new surroundings and peers. Anne is confronted with difficult decisions for her future, the beginnings of romance, and a tragedy beyond anything she's ever experienced. Meanwhile, Matthew and Marilla Cuthbert struggle with growing old while dealing with financial difficulties and nagging illnesses.
