After the Second World War, soldiers from the United States of America (GIs) arrive in Paris. Having fallen in love with a mademoiselle at first sight, Jerry Mulligan chooses to remain in the City of Lights. A stranger, Jerry meets musician Adam Hochberg, who happens to be in love with the same woman as Jerry does, despite the fact that Jerry is completely unaware of it. A ballett with said woman, who has been promised to Henri Baurel, requires the two of them to collaborate. Along the way, Henri meets Jerry and Adam and becomes acquainted with them.
