After the Ball
After the Ball is a retail fantasy set in the fashion business. Kate's ambition is to work as a fashion designer for couture houses. Kate is unemployed, despite her brilliance as a newcomer. Nobody believes the daughter of Lee Kassell, a retail guru who sells clothing "influenced" by the designers Kate want to work with. Who needs a spy in the midst of sequins and stilettos? Kate reluctantly enters the family company, where she must contend with her dishonest stepmother and two evil stepsisters. However, with the assistance of a prince of a shoe salesman, her godmother's vintage clothing, and a surprising identity exchange, Kate exposes the villainous trio, saves her father's firm, and demonstrates that anyone can wear a gorgeous frock.
