On a beautiful day at the beach, Alison and her younger brother, Kevin, are saved from a shark attack by the brooding and mysterious Daniel, who helps them get back to the shore. Diana, the mother of Alison's friend, thinks that Daniel is a good person. The boyfriend of Alison's is Carson, and he thinks Daniel is a threat whose stories don't add up very well. Daniel charms his way into Diana's heart and home, but Alison isn't so sure about his strange and protective habits. It turns out that Daniel isn't who he says he is and that he has a dark past that has led to a lot of bodies. Until he has Alison, "Daniel" won't stop. Before Kevin and Diana become his next victims, she must stop him.
