Liam Bradley (Dylan Bruce) is a romance novelist who has already achieved tremendous success with three books written under the pen name Gabriel August, but he is inexplicably unknown to his legions of fans. With his first book written as a way to heal after a failed relationship, Liam has gradually grown disillusioned with writing exclusively for the romantic fantasy genre, which is evident to Sophie Atkinson (Amy Acker), a sweet but honest journalist who reviews books, whom he meets by chance on a plane. The two begin a hesitant relationship in Sophie's hometown of Portland, Oregon, where Liam has traveled in order to find inspiration for his latest novel. Sophie is unaware of Liam's public character, so his agent puts him on the spot with a long-planned expose of Gabriel August's true identity. In Liam's attempt to keep her from finding out what is really going on, he is digging himself a deeper and deeper hole. Will their relationship endure after his true identity is revealed?
