There are times when Tim seems to prefer to be alone. He befriends a bashful youngster at school and the two become fast friends. Cowardice sets in when Tim's new friend is subjected to verbal and physical abuse by a gang of kids, as well as an aggressive use of social media, and he backs away from him. Bullies appear to be getting away with their crimes since Tim refuses to snitch, especially Jeff, the gang's leader. He's one of the school's top runners, and his 800m time of 1.54 seconds puts him in the driver's seat for a trip to the national championships. For some reason, his adversaries seem eager to stop Tim from taking on Jeff and begin training in order to do it under Tim's girlfriend's noses.
